Caps Win!!!!!!!!!!!, tie series 1-1

Washington, DC 4/17/10
The caps did it. They pulled it off. I'm not sure how, but they won! What a great game. I thought the Habs had it in the bag with a 3 goal lead late in the second period, but I (fortunately) was wrong. The caps pulled another one out of the bag. With a hat trick from Nick Backstrom and 4 points from Ovi, its almost impossible for them to lose. I was really getting sick of Montreal beating us at home, but the caps pulled through for me. An unsuspecting hero tied the game for the Caps, with about a minute and a half left in regulation. 2o-year old American defenseman John Carlson beat Halak to tie. Not many people know him, so here is a short bio. Carlson is from Natwick, Massachusetts. He was drafted by the Caps in '08, but has mostly plays in the AHL for Hershey. He had one goal and 5 assists in the regular season, and has shown great improvement in the playoffs, playing in botyh games 1 & 2 for DC. Not to mention he won the world junior tournament in OT for the US in January, which really caught peoples eyes. Congrats John, and do more of that in the future. Before tonight, the caps had'nt won a playoff game at home in OT since 1998, which sent them to their only Stanaley Cup final. I hope that means something! Thanks for reading and come back soon for coverage of game 3 in Montreal.
See Ya!

  2. Can you believe that Grandma Connie turned it and didn't see the tie in the 3rd period OR the WIN in OT? I was shocked!! Keep up your awesome blog Sammy :)

  3. That was one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen! The caps needed that win bad because they really didn't want to go to Montreal down 2-0. Looking forward to game 4!
