Cornerback problems for the Redskins

Arlington, Virginia 3/31/10
The Redskins look to add some depth to the cornerback position by signing first-round draft pick Philip Buchanon, after the releasing of Fred Smoot. It seems to me that the secondary has been messed up again for the 'skins. Three years ago in the 2007 seson, they had the perfect cornerback and safety positions. They had experience in Shaun Springs and Fred Smoot, and young talent in Carlos Rogers. For the safety position, they had hard-hitting Shawn Taylor and young but talented Laron Landry. I was very comfortable with this, but then things went downhill. Springs missed 4-5 weeks with an ankle sprain and we all know about the Shawn Taylor incident. So that left Reed Doughty to fill in, but he struggled. For the '08 season Owner Dan Snyder released Springs, putting another hole in the defense, and it put pressure on Rogers and Smoot. Then, Snyder had to sign Deangelo Hall a big name corner from Oakland. He tried to build a defense around the 5'10" Hall, and it evidently did not work. Hall gets alot of interceptions but cannot cover anyone! He always gets beat, and he can't tackle, either. So I hope this Buchanon guy does well. Keep reading!
See Ya!

  1. I can't stand D-Hall. He drives me crazy. He gets beat all the time. What do you know about Buchanon?

  2. Well All I know is that he was a first round pick, and he has been on 4 teams in 5 years. Doen't sound reliable, but you never know.
